The Smithy provides the ability to craft powerful weapons and armour that will give you specific bonuses when worn.
Materials[]
Basic[]
To create a piece of equipment, you need to have the required amount of specific crafting materials and enough Steel. Basic crafting materials can be gotten from creatures, rewards from quests and through purchasable packs. The basic materials are:
- Black Iron
- Copper Bar
- Dragonglass
- Goldenheart Wood
- Hide
- Ironwood
- Kingswood Oak
- Leather Straps
- Milk of the Poppy
- Silk
- Weirwood
- Wildfire
Event Specific[]
There are also event specific crafting materials. These are used to create specific sets of equipment and are usually only gained by participating in that event, or by purchasing them from the store during the event:
- Abalone
- Black Leather
- Blackfyre Pennies
- Bone
- Driftwood
- Golden Claws
- Horse Hides
- Raven Feathers
- Lock of Hair
- Smuggler's Knot Cords
- Stalwart Claw Shards
- Seven Pointed Star Pages
- Silk Stole Threads
- Wildling Arrowhead Bits
- Wildling Bone Needle Fragments
Quality[]
Quality Categories[]
Each material will be of a certain quality, which is denotated by the colour surrounding it's icon. Using higher quality materials will produce a higher quality piece of equipment, which will have increased bonuses. There are six qualities:
- Poor (White)
- Common (Green)
- Fine (Blue)
- Exquisite (Purple)
- Epic (Orange)
- Legendary (Yellow)
Improving the Quality[]
The quality of materials can be improved by sacrificing 4 of the same lower tier materials to create 1 higher tier material. For example, 4 poor materials can be improved to 1 common material. This can be done on the 'Materials' tab:

There are currently 7 categories of equipment that you can make:
- Helmet
- Chest
- Pants
- Boots
- Ring
- Weapon
- Trinket
Requirements[]
To create a piece of equipment, you must satisfy all the requirements. For example, the Copper Band ring requires:
- 10 x Copper Bar
- 10 x Black Iron
- 438 Steel
You cannot mix different qualities of the same material. This means you cannot use 5 poor (White) Copper Bar and 5 exquisite (purple) Copper Bar to meet the requirements of 10 Copper Bar.This means you need to have 10 of the same quality of material.
You can, however, choose different qualities for each individual requirement as shown below where I chose 10 x poor (white) Copper Bar and 10 x exquisite (purple) Black Iron:
